So, I guess you see I decided to try for a new look on my blog. Not that you get to come here that much to see updates, but I hated to think you might be getting bored. Although, those of you who actually read to keep up with our lives would have appreciated me spending the HOURS it took me to change this stuff to actually write some posts......ANYWAY, y'all know I struggle with this stuff....you know TECHNOLOGY and all.....so, you will understand why some of my headings, dates, etc. are UNREADABLE because of the color. I OBVIOUSLY changed them one time and knew how to then, but apparently I have gone stupid. I blame it on pregnancy! I did try to look up a "tutorial" but it made my head hurt...I ain't lyin! So, if you do this stuff lots and you actually understand it and IF...IF....it isn't complicated, can someone lend a girl a hand...or a skill as it is in this case....and help me know how to make the colors so they aren't harmful to the eyes?
And, if you don't have any words of wisdo, I hope you will appreciate and enjoy the new design...it took years off of my life!!!!!

Kids say the darndest things!
Yesterday me and the boys were riding along....through a strange path (which I will not bore you with), our conversation shifted to heaven...getting there, specifically. So we kind of started having a deep conversation about salvation, which was exciting and scary all at the same time. Leighton was telling me how he had asked Jesus to come into his heart, but he just hadn't told anyone....how he thought it was kind of hard to understand....how he wanted to talk with us about it....I was really kind of to the point of tears....
AND THEN, Logan chimes in.....
"I want to ask him into my heart too."....."Will he come into mine?"....."Can I? Can I? Can I?"....(crying)"Why does Leighton always get to?" So I talk a little more about how you have to start by telling God how sorry you are for doing wrong things, how you ask him into your heart a trust him, etc.....well, as I am talking and REALLY impressing myself with my wise words (smile), I hear the window go down on Logan's side......and then he YELLS TO THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS, RIGHT OUT THE WINDOW.....
I'M SORRY GOD!!!!! (Yeah, he did!)
And Leighton and I just about lost our breaths laughing!!!!!!!

A budding artist?
Each year during the local Peach Festival, our local bank sponsors an art show. Because Leighton is at the elementary school, he has the AWESOME opportunity to have art weekly. His art teacher always asks if any of the students would like to participate in the art show. So, this year, we did. The bank honored the students with the sweetest reception and they were able to see their art on display. He CERTAINLY didn't get his skills from his mama!!!!
VBS...did I forget that??????
We did manage to fit in swimming lessons
So, at the beginning of the summer, actually during the spring, I gave BRIEF thought to the fact that Logan was probably ready for swimming lessons. I made a FEEBLE attempt at finding some for him but did not go out of my way to pursue it. Then we started swimming...and I knew he was ready...at least for something. So, Mrs. Hughes was kind enough to allow us to come the last week of June. And, I have me a swimmer...a jump-off-the-diving-board, swim-to-the-side-underwater kind of swimmer. (I can only handle that on my best days....I prefer to let him swim only in the shallow end!)
He ADORED swimming lessons! Begged to stay for he sessions after his (like this, "Hey mama, I think I will stay for another!"....well, no, punkin, no you won't), and could not BELIEVE that she had the nerve to actually END swimming lessons (as if they were supposed to go on FOREVER!)

(Yes, that is him under water!)

Getting caught up.....
on EVERYTHING...from laundry to dishes to rest......
I had visions of doing ever so much blogging this summer...because, I was going to have plenty of time and all, you know! HA! So, these posts will be short, picture filled posts. I will try to be brief.....

This post covers the remainder of our All-Star season. It was large fun...really, it was! By the end, we MIGHT have gotten a teensy bit tired, and maybe a smidge irritable, and maybe, just maybe, we were less than lovely on more than one occasion, but it is an experience that I am so very thankful for. I have given you a brief pictorial journey of our first tournament or two, so I will pick up with our regional tournament...where we took the NUMBER 1 SPOT! (Oh yes we did!)

Then we were off to the state tournament...where we played LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of baseball with more than one rain delay, one night that went to such a ridiculous hour that I am ashamed to post it as you MIGHT label me a pitiful parent for allowing it, more cheese fries/sticks than I care to discuss, lots of cheering, MANY, MANY Jolly Ranchers, and loads of free entertainment, compliments of Logan!

(This is his new heartthrob....Anna!)

And, never doubt our degree of dedication...between games we even had a TV....we are BIG TIME!!!!

We finally ended our season on Wednesday night with a loss to Moody...score....5-4! But, I am so proud to say that our guys were 4th in the state...which is a HUGE accomplishment in my book!

Seeing the season end was bittersweet to say the least. We were tired..everyone was...and Leighton was ready for a break....but I kind of just wanted to sit in the middle of the field and cry. We have come a long way...and spent EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. with these teammates and their families...it was hard to let it go! I definitely found myself in a place I had never been before regarding my emotions and baseball. It was kind of strange. Anyway, we will carry on, and get busy having lots of summer the next few weeks. It goes too fast after the 4th of July!

Baseball.....It's what we do
So, for those of you who don't live in our baseball world, we made All-Stars.....I say WE because it involves ALL of us!! Leighton has been so excited, but it is a step up for us....practice everyday, weekend tournaments....next thing you know you will see me riding through down with window paint on my car - Clanton 7 Year Old All-Stars! - Leighton #1......if you see me doing that, please feel free to pull me over and SLAP ME ACROSS THE FACE! In all seriousness, though, it has been lots of fun...just really tiring. We played in our first tournament this weekend and got 3rd place. (Here is where I could go on and on about how we TOTALLY got ripped off....the team that beat up to play in the "championship" game, totally something fishy there....BUT, if I went on about that, you MIGHT think I was a sore loser, and you MIGHT think that I am a little bit biased, and you MIGHT decide not to love me anymore...so I WON'T!) Anyway, where was I, OH, 3rd place! Below is the accepting of the trophy! (I NEVER have the right lens on my camera...I either need the big one and have the little one or vise versa...it is what it is!)

Now, below is what Logan does to keep himself entertained during the game...he has found himself a girlfriend...Addie!!!!! Those two are two peas in a pod....we are so thankful for a friend for him! He can get a tad wild! (hmmhmm...understatement)

Here is the team and Leighton is the orange uniform...my personal favorite! I am already picturing the major league uniform....(HA!HA!HA!)

But, before we move on to All-Stars, let us not forget the big season wrap up for the River Dogs. We finished 2nd place in our league! I'm not sure, but I am pretty sure it had mostly to do with the hot guy coaching and the cute first baseman! Below...the acceptance of the award!

See, I told you baseball is what we do! Bless this next child's heart if it should be a girl! She will come out with a bat and ball.......I'll keep you posted, but I feel sure it will just be more baseball!!!
Oh, I do have a couple of things to add that are not baseball related....just to keep you coming around.....2 funny things said this weekend:
Logan - I was telling him that I needed him to get his clothes onto his body for church...I had to be specific about what to do with them...anyway, I was just about to lose my temper with him, when Leighton decided to save the day and bring the clothes to me, so I could help Logan. I said, "Thank you so much Leighton. That was such a huge help to me. I really appreciate that, BUT I really do need Logan to do the things that I ask him to do. I need him to learn that HE has to do things...that we won't do everything for him...but I do appreciate your help." Then, from the living room I hear Logan say, "Yeah, Leighton, I appreciate your help too!" STINKER!
Leighton - We were riding down the interstate on Sunday when we came up on a big truck that had some type of coat of arms on it. Now, Leighton has just this year begun to participate in RAs at our church...that's Royal Ambassadors in case you didn't know...and they have a coat of arms type thing....so he say, "He mama...that is a Royal Ambassador truck." We just died laughing.....

And you thought you were missing something......
So many of you have asked about my blogging absence....I was so touched by your "interest" in our lives. But, take it from me, after I get done with this post, full of the overly mediocre details of our weekend, you may once again wish for my absence.
Actually, I think it was a delightful, quite exciting weekend....which started with me watching 3 straight hours of Food Network on Saturday morning. Yes! You read right....3 HOURS! But you will be pleased to know that I now have a deep understanding of how to make fried green beans with a mean wasabi ranch sauce (thanks to Rachel Ray), a questionable ice box cake (compliments of 5 Ingredient Fix), and a decadent looking chocolate pound cake (love you, Paula Dean). Now, if only I cooked! OH WELL!!!!
I know you will find this hard to believe, but I finally managed to drag myself up off of he couch.....and really, I long to feel better from the nausea of pregnancy and the absurd tiredness, but I am certain that I will miss the "need" to lay around....my family will only buy that for so long....anyway, we were off to the ballpark for a double header...you read right...A DOUBLE HEADER....at 2:00 and 3:30. And, for those of you who were not in central Alabama this weekend, it was about 95 degrees with ZERO breeze. So, we were hot....to say the least. Even Logan noticed! :) But, I am happy to report that we won BOTH GAMES. I would like to say to you that it made the heat worth it....but I am not sure that would be true....although I would have probably labeled it unbearable had we not won!
Sunday was equally as hot which drove me into the houe and onto the couch by about 2:00 Sunday afternoon. And, who am I kidding, this is the first Sunday in about 6 months that I have actually done something between lunch and the couch. The heat...it inspired me!
But, the absolute, hands-down best part of the weekend was Sunday night. My brother was baptized. We have prayed for him for YEARS and YEARS and YEARS! To say we were excited that he made a profession of faith would be an understatement. It is such a huge thing to know that all your brothers and sisters will go with you when you go (although obviously not on May 21st at 6:00)...to the same place.....God is so good! So much better than we deserve....so much more than we can even fathom that we need.
Now it is Monday night...I have worked all day. I have cooked supper...yes, for real...with roast, mashed potatoes, lima beans and rolls. (See, I told you Food Network inspired me!) And, I am off to do something that rivals my weekend excitement so I have a fun filled post for tomorrow......

3 months of randomness....give or take a few days
Okay....so, the wait is over! I am going to give it my best shot to revive this blog! Because it has been more than 90 days since my last post, I must catch you up in list form....a list of mostly randomness. It would be hard for you to believe, I know, but for us to have been so crazy busy that I cannot blog, it surely doesn't seem like tons of SUPER EXCITING stuff has happened....it has just been life. Regular. Plain. Wonderful. LIFE! I wouldn't take anything for it. Now, I know those of you who have been waiting for a current post did not want to read my rambling....I know you just want pictures....so, on with my list.....
1. (Obviously the most EARTH SHATTERING UPDATE) We are expecting a new little someone in our family!

And, in case you missed it, the expected date of arrival is December 2nd! We are currently living in a divided state....half of our foursome wants a girl, half wants a boy...I am CERTAIN it will be one or the other so at least someone will be happy!
(Seriously, we are so excited and feel beyond blessed!)
2. We have played LOTS of baseball! (Not that you would know by the amount of pictures on my camera) H is coaching again this year, and Leighton is playing first base. He loves it! He also made the 7 year old All-Star team so we are very proud of him. But, if I am honest, the All-Star thing really kind of scares me......what I most wanted for this summer was to sit in a chair by a pool and do NOTHING...N-O-T-H-I-N-G! Now, not so much! Have you ever seen anything sweeter??????

3. Easter came.....and went....leaving a trail!

4. Leighton's mouth currently looks like a jigsaw puzzle! Since this, we have lost 2 MORE!

5. Logan had his end of the year program...so cute! Of course, leave it to my son to have to go tee-tee right in the MIDDLE of the program.

The little girl in the picture is his best bud/worst enemy! They have been together since birth at church and now at school. It is a love/hate relationship...but mostly love, obviously, since he leaned over in the MIDDLE of the program, hugged her and kissed her right on the shoulder.
6. Well, I don't guess there is a number 6....which is unfortunate because I really wanted a list of 10....oh well! Of course I have been swamped at work...spring is SOOO busy for us...but who wants to hear about that? And I certainly don't have any pictures of that.....then, let's see.....oh wait....
7. H has been working so hard since the storms on April 27th. He has pretty much been working 12 hour days 7 days a week unless we have ballgames...and he was "allowed" to be off on Mother's Day. People keep reminding me that the overtime money will be nice, but I am like, "Hey, not if it costs me my sanity!" H is my rock...truly my best friend...and when he is not there, things just don't work out like they are supposed to. The boys miss him...I miss him.....the yard misses him.....we are so blessed to have a man around that loves us all and loves to take care of us, so his link is definitely missed, and irreplacable, when he is gone. But, I am so thankful for the wonderful provider that he is for our family, and that he has a job that provides for our family.
Darn....I thought since #6 brought on a #7 that #7 might do the same thing...no luck!
So, a list of 7 biggies to catch you up!
See you soon........

a REAL costume
If you follow my blog regularly then you will remember that here is where I told you about Logan's OBSESSION with everything knight-ish....swords, shileds, and ESPECIALLY the costuming. So, you will be pleased to see that I found something very special and oh-so-perfect for my littlest Valentime.....

It is a "real costuNe"...according to Logan anyway!
It is a "real costuNe"...according to Logan anyway!

Who am I???????
Have you ever seen anything more perfect????

Who am I, O Sovereign Lord, and what is my family that you have brought me this far?
2 Kings 2:17
I ask myself this over and over....WHO? AM? I? That the King of Kings and Lord of Lords would shower me with so many blessings. It is hard to imagine that in my sin and shame, he would find me worthy of his love. That is so hard for me...but why? Why so hard for me and so EASY for Him?
There are so many paths my life could have taken....so many twists and turns that could have been different....but by the GRACE of GOD, he has brought me this far...and WHO? AM? I? Focusing on the thanks in THIS and EVERY day, from now on....
