Hello Friends! (Oh, that was sooo funny....the first time I typed that it said Hell Friends....not that that is ANY indication of how things have been lately :0) Let me just say, I may not make it back on here until Christmas after today! I came back to work full-time on July 26th and I am pretty sure I will not recover from that!!!! I used to make the transition between summer and work fairly easily, but these days, it is rocking my world! For the past 6 weeks I have had practically no time.... FOR ANYTHING!!!!! My house looks something like a cross between the aftermath of a tornado and those homes that you see on Hoarders: Buried Alive once they have removed all of the "stuff" and all that is left is the filth! You think I am joking and oh, how I wish I was....it is pathetic!!!!! I have managed to do little more than keep the dishes washed and the laundry done (thanks in great part to my sweet mother-in-law who has helped keep me on track in that area). Truthfully, I haven't even really cooked that much....I do manage to round up something for my family MOST nights, but I am afraid the amount of chicken nuggets, frozen pizza, and burritos that they have had recently might do something strange to their insides. Anyway, I have thought of you and this blog so often over the past few weeks. One of my dearest friends sent me an e-mail that said, "surely something exciting has happened in the past 2 months." And, she was SO right! I have written at least 25 oh-so-clever blog posts in my mind as I was traveling from school to school only to see those posts lost to more important things that I have to keep in my brain like baseball practice times, church events, homework assignments and meeting schedules. My intentions have been good, but I have to be totally honest with you, once I do manage to finally get the kids in bed, if I can hold my eyes open to make it to my room, then I pretty much just sit and stare at the tv....I don't really even watch it....and whatever channel happens to be on when I click it on, that is pretty much where it stays....ESPN, Weather Channel, Outdoor Channel....once I did muster the strength to find Criminal Minds (which is my FAVORITE) but I was so tired I could barely enjoy it! Thank goodness I had seen the episode previously because I did NOT make it to the end.
But, enough of that.......let me just give you a quick recap of the past few weeks...this is by NO means the sum of it, but at least it is something!
We had our first day of first grade! (Rough first couple of weeks, but now we are sooo on track!)
We also attended a Alabama Pep Rally to kick off the season!
LET'S PAUSE FOR A MOMENT AND GET A BIG ROOOOOOOLLLLLL TIDE, ROLL!!!!!! (in honor of the day)
We started our fall ball season, and H is coaching! He is loving it...and so is Leighton! I wish I had some pictures, but let's face it, I haven't even thought about my camera! At this rate I may never have pictures of my children again.....it makes me wonder how women with more than 2 kids function!
I hope that very soon all of this craziness called LIFE slows down a bit so I can update you daily on the antics of what it is to be US!!!! But until then, think of us and know that we are somewhere between digging out of our ridiculously "untidy" home and the ballpark!
